Saturday Morning Mini Clinics In our Saturday Morning Mini Clinics,learn to support your horse on the ground and in the saddle performing various tasks safely. This is the time for you and your horse to review and refine. Activities that may be covered are round pen work, ground work, and riding skills. Focus will be placed on the refinement of basic horsemanship maneuvers such as flection, soft feel, disengaging the hind quarters, leading the from quarters across, leg yields, haunches in, and simple lead changes. Time may be given to apply these skills to TASKS on our OBSTACLE COURSE and COW WORKING.
The cost is $35.00 for three hours starting at 9:00 to 12:00 on Saturday mornings.
The dates are APRIL 1, 8, 15, 22 / MAY 6. 20 / June 3, 10, 17 / JULY 1, 15, 29 / AUGUST 5, 12, 26. PLEASE CALL BY FRIDAY TO CONFIRM ATTENDANCE.
BUILDING BLOCKS FOR SAFE HORSEMANSHIP WINDSONG'S THREE DAY HORSEMANSHIP CLINICS will be challenging and fun, exposing rider and horse to skills related with the ROUND PEN, GROUND WORK, COW WORK, OBSTACLE COURSE, and RANCH ROPING. Our goal for you and your horse is to enjoy a relaxed and safe ride during any adventure.
The summer THREE DAY CLINICS will be on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Dates: JUNE 23, 24, & 25 / JULY 21, 22, 23 / AUGUST 18, 19, 20.
The COST per clinic is $300. The cost includes the cattle fee, obstacle course, camping, and holding pen for the participant's horse.
COW WORKING AND RANCH ROPING Challenge yourself to learning new skills of cow working and ranch roping in a fun and safe environment. Learn to build a loop and throw a variety of head and heel shots using a 45 or 60 foot ranch rope. Concentration will be on the communication between horse and rider in completing skills of driving, separating, roping and tying down cattle.
HORSEMANSHIP CLINICS Welcome to Windsong Ranch. Hi! I'm Suzie George. My husband, Gerald and I enjoy putting on fun filled, educational clinics with safety for the rider and their horse as the main focus. Gerald is the clinician and I am his assistant. We've named the clinics, "BUILDING BLOCKS FOR SAFE HORSEMANSHIP" One of the activities is learning round pen skills. From the round pen we'll go into the arena for ground work. Ground work skill will then be applied to the horsemanship skill while in the saddle. Time will then be given to apply these skills to tasks on our obstacle course. It is our hope that practice and refinement of skills learned can be continued at home or on any riding adventure. Our goal is for you to have a safe and enjoyable ride where ever and when ever that may be.
COW WORKING AND RANCH ROPING CLINIC Hi, horse lovers. It's Suzie George again telling you about a very popular clinic. The rider will use all his horsemanship skills while challenging himself (or herself) to learning new skills of cow working and ranch roping.
