Riding Facilities Windsong's OUTDOOR ARENA is joined to the INDOOR ARENA at one end, and connected by a chute to a 55 foot ROUND PEN at the opposite end. This enables use of all three areas with various activities occurring at the same time. Here is an example. During one of our Cow Working and Ranch Roping Clinics, there may be a group of participant practicing head or heal shots on saw horses in the indoor arena, cow working and driving cattle in the outdoor arena, and roping and tying down a calf in the round pen.
The OBSTACLE COURSE is not far off from the arenas. It are three acres of fun challenges. The obstacles include - pond /stream /wooden bridge /teeter-totter bridge /hilly wooded trails /log jumps of varying sizes /gates /round pen /and a large field. The variety of obstacles are ongoing.
ROUND PEN A safe ROUND PEN is a valuable working area. Starting a colt, helping a troubled horse, learning new horsemanship skills like round pen work or ground work, and initially experiencing driving /separating /roping and tying down cattle are some of the activities that are done in the round pen.
OBSTACLE COURSE The OBSTACLE COURSE has two wooden bridges. One is to depict a bridge found on many mountain trails. The challenging teeter-totter bridge helps horse and rider become use to movement under their feet.
