About Windsong
Many horse lovers that enjoy riding the scenic trails, or challenge themselves in learning new skills like ranch roping and cow working, or those hauling their horses to their new show arena may encounter obstacles and circumstances that may be new and possibly dangerous to them and their horses. Safe, comfort and confidence for you and for your horse are emphasized in all activities at Windsong Ranch.
Teaching Methods
Gerald's inspiration for gentling and working horses come from Buck Brannaman, Ray Hunt and Tom Dorrance. He combines their philosophy with his 31 years of teaching and coaching techniques to work with each individual student. Gerald breaks each lesson down into the smallest steps so horse and rider can clearly understand each process of good hosemanship.
Saftey before Saddling
Gerald George, owner and trianer at Windsong Ranch, knows that safety begins long before you ever put a saddle on the back of the horse or lead them inside a trailer. A loving and trusting relationship must be established first in order to enjoy a working partnership.
Good Foundation
As the horse's foundation becomes stronger and the rider's awareness increases, so will their feel, timing and balance. The horse will also begin to perform at a safe and higher level. The goal is to have a harmonious relationship with horse and rider that makes safe riding possible.
